Coroners Final Hearing Inquests

The Coroner will continue to open and adjourn Inquests. Families, Interested Parties and the Press will be notified accordingly.  Wherever possible, & with the agreement of Interested Persons, the Coroner will continue to conclude Documentary Only Inquests.  These Inquests will be listed on the website and we would advise that you check this page regularly.  Please follow this link - http://www.southwalescentralcoroner.co.uk/En/SeeUpcomingInquests/ListedInquestHearings.aspx

In line with the Government’s guidance in relation to working practices, please note that we will no longer routinely be able to accept visitors into the building. This will be relaxed to allow public access (observing social distancing guidelines) when hearings are taking place

The Coroner’s Office will endeavour to answer all queries in a timely fashion but will be operating with a significantly reduced workforce.

Additional Temporary Coroner’s Court

The South Wales Central Coroner Service has secured a temporary Courtroom in Merthyr Tydfil in order to resume a large number of Inquests that were adjourned as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Coroner’s Office will advise families and other Interested Parties if the Inquest that they will be attending will be listed for the Merthyr Tydfil Courtroom.  Attendance will also be available by Microsoft TEAMS.

Please note that the Pontypridd Coroner’s Courtrooms continue to operate and the Office will advise which Venue you will need to attend.
